John — Since early 2023, Georgia families have seen their electric bills go up by around $43 a month. That’s hundreds of dollars a year, at a time when most folks are already stretched thin.
So what’s going on? The all-Republican Public Service Commission (PSC) — the board that decides what you pay for electricity — has quietly approved multiple rate hikes with barely any pushback. Meanwhile, utility companies are posting record profits.
It’s the same story we’ve seen again and again with Republicans in power: big corporations win, and working families pay the price.
And things are only getting worse under Donald Trump’s economic agenda. Groceries, rent, and gas keep getting more expensive. Trump and his allies are rigging the system for the wealthy while everyday Georgians are left footing the bill.
But this election gives us a real shot to fight back.
Democrats Peter Hubbard and Dr. Alicia Johnson are running for the PSC to shake things up. They’re ready to hold these companies accountable, fight for lower rates, and make sure decisions are made in the open — not behind closed doors.
This election is a critical opportunity — not just to win these seats and stop the rate hikes, but to start building the momentum we need for 2026 and beyond.
This is our chance to take back power from the people who’ve stopped working for us — and start putting Georgia families first. Can we count on you to chip in $10? Even a few dollars will help us reach more voters and win this race.
