Hi John,
As I talk with our neighbors every day, one thing is glaringly clear: Our energy bills are too damn high.
This message was clear at the town hall I took part in last week. I was honored to share the stage with our Democratic Nominee for Lieutenant Governor, Senator Ghazala Hashmi, Senator Schuyler VanValkenburg, House of Delegates Democratic nominee for District 82, Kimberly Pope Adams, and Hope Elliot, longtime community activist, at a town hall meeting on clean energy in Richmond.
Mark Earley Jr. has accepted tens of thousands in donations from Dominion Energy over his political career, according to his own filings.. And recently, he’s advocated in support of Dominion’s proposed Chesterfield gas plant, aligning himself with an effort that critics warn will cause local communities to suffer increased pollution, impacting the health of our friends and neighbors, and causing more environmental damage.
Earley has shown himself time and again to care about two things: his corporate donors and his extremist policies.
We deserve leaders who fight for us, not for special interests. When I get to the House of Delegates, I will push for accountability, protect our environment, and fight to ensure that Virginians aren’t paying higher rates to support plants that poison our air and increase our power bills.
If you’re tired of paying outrageous utility bills and believe Chesterfield deserves better, then please stand with me. Tell your friends. And help us reach more voters so we can expose these deals and champion real change.
