** John,
------------------------------------------------------------

Earlier this month, the Supreme Court heard arguments in a case that is trying to set a precedent to allow political candidates to challenge Illinois’ vote-by-mail in court.

This isn’t about “election security.” It’s about disenfranchising voters — working people, seniors, students, military members, and anyone else who depends on mail-in ballots to cast their votes.

Republicans know that when more people vote, they lose. That’s why they’re trying to strip away one of the most accessible and secure ways for everyday people to participate in our democracy.

We’ve seen this before — from voter ID laws to gerrymandering to outright intimidation at polling places. Now, they’re using the courts to finish what their failed policies couldn’t: silence the voters who stand up to their agenda.

Vote-by-mail shouldn’t be a partisan issue. It’s a lifeline for democracy.

As this case is weighed by the court, I want you to know this:

I will fight every attempt to make it harder for people to vote.

Because protecting democracy means protecting the rights of every person to have their voice counted.

In Solidarity,

Delia
