Dear John,
We're thrilled that Governor Gavin Newsom has signed AB 247 ([link removed]) into law, raising the pay for incarcerated handcrews by 700% to the federal minimum wage, and we're grateful to you for supporting their journey!
During the LA fires, incarcerated handcrews risked their lives battling the Eaton and Palisades fires, working 24-hour shifts for just one dollar an hour. Many of you learned their stories and saw why these courageous individuals deserve a second chance. We’re deeply thankful to everyone who donated to ARC’s Firefighter Fund ([link removed]) and shared their stories of hard work and sacrifice.
** Because of your support, our Firefighter Fund has provided 14 scholarships to men and women who fought the LA fires. And that’s just the start!

These scholarships helped them successfully transition from prison back into the community, covering essential expenses like rent, car down payments, gas, food, clothing, and more. Now these heroes have a solid foundation to build stability and start fresh.
With your support, we’ve upgraded their fire camps with new beds, couches, and refrigerators, and provided new boots for over 150 incarcerated handcrews!

Please donate today to help us create more second chance opportunities and support people in rebuilding their lives. Your support opens doors to careers, housing, mentorship, and more!
