Hi John,
The movement for Black lives has successfully disrupted the conversation, forcing the United States (and world) to reckon with its pervasive racism. Yet even the animal and environmental activists most supportive of #BlackLivesMatter would be surprised to hear that racism is the greatest threat to our own movements.
Join the Animal Liberation Online Assembly to learn why racism is the greatest threat to the animal liberation movement & how we can defeat it.

Ian Haney López is co-founder of the Race-Class Narrative Project and a leading scholar on how racism is used to divide the public and undermine democracy. His books, Dog Whistle Politics and Merge Left, offer a radical new take on what political movements must do to build a progressive supermajority. This will be Haney López’s first time addressing an animal rights audience -- and our opportunity to get his take on our movement.
The Animal Liberation Online Assembly unites animal activists and supporters from around the world. Join us the second Saturday of each month as we learn from social change leaders and discuss the most pressing issues facing our movement & the world.
In Solidarity,
Johanna
