Friend,

I’m Gabriella Miyares, DPA’s Director of Communications and Branding, and it’s part of my job to help design our annual Member Card. And it’s so important to me that every DPA member helps us pick the final design!

Voting for our 2026 design ends in just two days. Will you vote for your favorite today?

Your Member Card is more than just a piece of paper. It’s a symbol of your voice in this movement and how you put your values into action alongside DPA. It shows your solidarity with every person, family, and community that’s been harmed by the drug war—and it signifies your commitment to putting compassion and care at the center of our nation’s drug policy.

Right now, that commitment has never been more urgent. The Trump administration is escalating its reliance on the failed drug war playbook—slashing public health services, threatening overdose prevention programs, and deploying militarized crackdowns in our communities. These reckless actions put lives at risk and roll back the progress we’ve fought so hard to achieve.

We want this card to also be a reminder of what you do as a member of DPA. Together, we’re transforming drug policy—even in the face of backlash and political headwinds. Everyday we work towards a future where the people we know and love will have the proven interventions they need to thrive, like naloxone, fentanyl test strips, medications for opioid use disorder, and low-barrier treatment. And where drug criminalization and its harms are a thing of the past.

From advancing justice in marijuana legalization, to pushing for fully funded health services, accessible treatment, and overdose prevention strategies that every community can count on, we’re laying the groundwork for the kind of progress that we need. And your 2026 DPA Member Card will be a visual reminder of that work.

But first, we need to pick the final design—and we can’t do that without you! Please be sure to vote before the October 24 deadline.
