First up, we have coverage from Artemis. Artemis interviewed a trans woman in Turkey, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. Her message? "Never give up." Second, Artemis also covered a Montana trigger bill that would erase trans people and ban gay marriage- and how it is a clever attempt at lawfare by Montana Republicans. The bill, SB 437, appears not to have been previously covered by other trans outlets such as Erin in the Morning, Assigned Media, and Trans News Network. Next, we have a collection of 2 articles from Jane (part of an in-progress, larger series of 7 articles) based on a long form interview with Louise Weard, the director of Castration Movie Anthology Part II. Jane previously reviewed the movie for The Needle. Part 3 just published this morning, so you can check it out, too! Moving on, we have more culture coverage in the form of games journalism. Specifically, Roberta wrote a review on a visual novel called Hopeless Junction. After you've dipped into trans culture through Jane's interview and Roberta's review, you can check out some attempts at resistance through the following article- Jane has an op-ed on the US-centered "No Kings" protests. Jane's opinion piece is based on the one that took place in NYC. Moving on, we have one more piece of news, this time written by Artemis. It's good news out of Ireland. Specifically, a panel on decriminalization of sex work in Ireland and a legislative campaign that comes from collaboration between the grassroots and an elected official. Artemis covered the event for The Needle. As things get worse in the US, our US readers may be wondering whether they should flee or fight, and what each might look like. Jane has your back- with an op-ed on it being okay to run. Since we're already on the topic, if you're in the US and thinking about leaving, Artemis has you covered. Artemis wrote an op-ed that covers various ways of getting out and stresses the importance of doing your own research for your own situation. Finally, another culture piece by Artemis. As part of our new series titled "Academia Slaying", Artemis discusses recent peer-reviewed academic literature on puppygirls. Thank you for being a part of The Needle by being among our supporters. We'll be back next week with another dose of your Weekly NRT. You can support our coverage by spreading the word and signing up for a paid subscription- they start at $3 per month.
