Hey Team Nika and Family,

It's my birthday this month, and I'm having a party. My big day happens to coincide with the end of my first legislative session, which means I will have some STORIES to share!!

When I first got elected in 2018 I had no idea what I was getting into. COVID-19, the awakening of so many white allies following the events surrounding George Floyd's murder, and the regular crazy steep learning curve of being a first year rep. It's been quite a ride. Honestly, even with all that, I feel like I was made for this.

You know I have always placed a high value on community coming together to solve problems. At no time in my soon-to-be 47 years of life has that ever been more true. I am blessed to be surrounded by friends, family, constituents, colleagues, and supporters who feel the same way. We are all working hard and pulling together in the same direction, looking out for each other with renewed dedication and focus. Never before have we been more fired up to fight for true justice and opportunity for all!

Join me as we celebrate overcoming these tough times together. I'm sure you've got some stories to share, and I want to hear them!
