,
Last month, I received devastating news: because of ever-increasing wildfire risk in Northern California, my homeowner’s insurance was cancelled.
It’s not just my neighborhood. With climate change making natural disasters like wildfires, hurricanes, and floods more intense and unpredictable nationwide, we need a national solution.
My opponent, Rep. Tom McClintock, is a climate change denier that votes repeatedly against disaster relief. He doesn’t live in the district and doesn’t face our wildfire risk.
That’s why I’m running for Congress and calling for a national disaster insurance plan that protects reinsurers. We’re all in this together, and I need your help to defeat McClintock and fight for an insurance market that works.
Can you chip in $3 or more to my grassroots campaign to flip CA-04?
My preferred implementation of national disaster insurance is to protect reinsurers from further risk. Reinsurers insure insurance companies and it is ultimately their losses that are upending the insurance market.
National disaster insurance plan is a concrete solution that will help millions of Americans retain their home values and rebuild after disasters.
In contrast, Rep. Tom McClintock’s disaster relief plan is...voting against disaster relief.
He voted against wildfire aid to his own constituents and against relief for communities devastated by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria.
I’m running for Congress because we need to spread the risk fairly rather than letting individual Americans suffer when catastrophic events occur.
Help me pass national disaster insurance. Chip in $3 or more to my grassroots campaign to flip CA-04.
Thanks for your support.
