PROTECT ARCTIC WILDLIFE
[[link removed]]Defender,
Maybe you’ve never heard of this serene Arctic wildland - but it won’t survive
the Trump administration and their oil industry friends without your help.
Known as the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska (Reserve), this extraordinary
land contains the largest federally managed undeveloped wildlife habitat
remaining in the United States. But because Big Oil wants to exploit this
habitat for private profits, this administration is rolling back environmental
protections and pushing to open more than 80% of this land to oil and gas
exploration.
Help stop this atrocious land grab by Big Oil with your urgent gift to Defenders
of Wildlife!

Grizzly bears, caribou, wolverines and the most imperiled polar bears in the
world make their home in the Reserve’s rich and diverse habitat. Millions of
birds gather every summer from all four North American flyways and six
continents to benefit from one of the most important bird habitats in the global
Arctic.
But if the oil industry gets its way, this vast wonderland will be degraded into
a petrochemical wasteland.
Oil and gas exploration will mean destructive roads, airstrips, gravel pits,
heavy machinery, pipelines, processing facilities, and polluted air and waters.
A vast landscape that has sheltered wildlife for millions of years could be
permanently spoiled by oil companies in our lifetime.
We can stop this industrial invasion before it’s too late. Please make your gift
to mount a defense of Arctic wildlife in the Reserve and beyond!!

As climate change tightens its grip on the planet and more and more species come
under risk, the last thing we need is to lose this wild land and the animals who
call it home in the search for more fossil fuel profits.
It’s not too late to change the fate of the Reserve. I know you want to ensure
we’re leaving future generations with the same wild world we inherited. Please –
help defend that legacy and Arctic wildlife today!
