[ [link removed] ]Tell Congress: Vote NO on the Concealed Carry Mandate
Right now, the federal government is still shut down—but Republican
leaders in Congress are more focused on the gun lobby's bottom line.
Instead of prioritizing reopening the government, they're pushing a
dangerous, concealed carry mandate.

This alarming bill would force each state to allow people from other
states to carry hidden, loaded guns in public—even if they'd be barred
under state laws. This includes, for instance, people with dangerous
histories like convicted stalkers and domestic abusers, as well as people
with no safety training.

Here's what you need to know about the Concealed Carry Mandate and why
it's so dangerous:

What is the Concealed Carry Mandate?

The Concealed Carry Mandate is a federal "lowest common denominator" bill
that would override strong state gun laws, forcing each state to recognize
concealed carriers from other states—even those from states that don't
require someone to obtain a concealed carry permit and those that don't
have any standards about who is and who isn't allowed to carry.

Over half of Americans live in states with permit requirements—laws that
promote responsible gun ownership and protect the public. This legislation
would wipe them out.

If passed, states would be required to let people from other states carry
concealed, loaded guns in their borders even if they:

• Have no permit
• Have no background check or safety training
• Have been convicted of a violent misdemeanor crime, stalking, or
multiple recent DUIs

The Concealed Carry Mandate guts our gun laws, putting everyone at risk,
and tramples over states' rights—which is why your U.S. Representative
needs to hear from you: [ [link removed] ]Send a message now and urge Congress to vote NO
on the Concealed Carry Mandate.

What will this impact?

It would force states with strong gun laws to accept weaker ones—risking
the same spikes in gun violence we've seen in states with no permit
requirements.

This would even mean more hidden, loaded guns in school zones and national
parks, and other sensitive areas like bars and daycares (depending on your
state's laws) by forcing states to allow concealed carry in
privately-owned spaces open to the public.

It also puts state and local law enforcement in danger. Routine traffic
stops could turn deadly, making it more difficult for officers to enforce
their own state's gun laws. Police wouldn't be able to quickly verify if
someone has a valid permit or is even allowed to carry—and could be sued
for even trying.

Additionally, the Concealed Carry Mandate would override state laws that
prohibit high-capacity magazines, which have been used in some of the
nation's deadliest mass shootings—further eroding safety protections.

Can you give a real-world example?

Under the Concealed Carry Mandate, if a man from South Carolina with a
history of domestic violence were going after his estranged girlfriend in
New York City, police officers couldn't stop him from carrying his loaded
gun in public. That's because South Carolina doesn't block abusers from
carrying concealed guns. Worse, the officer could be sued for questioning
him. This is why we need your support today!

[ [link removed] ]TAKE ACTION

This dangerous bill would make it easier for abusers, criminals, and
untrained individuals from other states to carry hidden guns in states
that wouldn't otherwise let them—the gun lobby's dream, and a public
safety nightmare.
