Friends,
Warren here again. I want to share another story with you about my dad, Ralph Norman on today’s $10 Tuesday.
Growing up, I learned pretty quickly that my dad does not like to waste money. In fact, I probably got in more trouble for leaving a light on than if I had snuck a beer as a teenager. That’s just how he is. He’s frugal, disciplined, always careful with what he has.
Back in the late 80s or early 90s, dad got this idea that instead of paying for the heating bill, he was going to heat our whole house with a massive wood stove. Now, keep in mind, there’s six of us in our family and our house has a decent size to fit us all. Do you know how much wood it took to heat that house? Let’s just say it was a lot.
And guess who got the job of hauling and refueling the stove? Me. With three sisters, I was the one who got volunteered. I can still remember stacking wood, hauling it inside, and feeding that stove over and over again.
