We’re hit every day with news of yet another attack on our democracy. Whether it’s a redistricting plan to dilute Black voting power, injecting religion into our kids’ public schools, or combating misinformation, it’s clear we’ve got our work cut out for us.

I recently joined my friend, Marc Elias, on his podcast ‘Defending Democracy’ to chat about just that — organizing and empowering communities in overlooked, hard-to-reach states.

Groundwork Project aims to do just that. From the Deep South, to the Plains, and Appalachia, we’re supporting local changemakers who are organizing in the toughest places — taking on our country’s biggest issue at its source.
