Over the weekend, Yassamin celebrated with Arizonans at Phoenix pride — a celebration of diversity, LGBTQ+ Arizonans, and the progress that we’ve made together to defeat discrimination and protect civil rights.

We’ve come far, John, but it’s clear we still have so much progress to make and fight for.

Right now, we’re facing an anti-equality Republican majority in all three branches of government and the Supreme Court has been asked to overturn Obergefell v. Hodges, which would roll back the clock on same-sex marriage and deny marriage protections for millions of people nationwide.

Yassamin has always been a champion for equality, having launched the Pride on the Block festival in Phoenix to celebrate our diverse queer communities. Her commitment doesn't stop there — in Congress, she’s fighting for the passage of the Equality Act and the Respect for Marriage Act, and to end conversion therapy once and for all.
