Last week, Pierre Poilievre called RCMP leaders "despicable" and claimed that Justin Trudeau should be in jail.
That kind of talk doesn't just cross a line, it signals another disturbing shift in what's considered normal and acceptable in Canadian politics.

As Elizabeth told reporters yesterday, this is the kind of talk we expect to hear from Donald Trump, not from the Leader of the Opposition.

What's really scary is how quickly this spreads. When political leaders start talking about jailing their opponents, facts stop mattering and democracy breaks down. We’ve watched it happen to our closest neighbour. We can’t let it take hold here.

Greens stand for something very simple, and very Canadian: debate grounded in truth, disagreement without personal attacks, and leaders who don't weaponize the law.

When voices like Elizabeth’s speak up for truth and respect, they remind Canadians that democracy is not something we can take for granted, it’s something we have to defend together.
