The future for thousands seeking refuge in the U.S. is more uncertain than ever. Earlier this month, reports revealed that the Trump administration plans to cut refugee admissions this fiscal year to just 7,500 people — the lowest in U.S. history —
This moment calls for courage and compassion. Welcoming people fleeing violence and persecution is a core American value — one shared by people across faiths and communities. In fact, 70% of evangelicals say the U.S. has a moral responsibility to welcome refugees.
That belief is at the heart of our work. Through our partnerships with business leaders and grassroots groups like Women of Welcome, we’re bringing together faith and business to educate, organize, and urge Congress and the administration to restore our nation’s commitment to welcoming those fleeing persecution.
In November, our partners and community members will meet directly with members of Congress to urge the White House to consider increasing the refugee admissions cap. Your support helps ensure they have the resources, tools, and training to make their voices — and yours — heard.
Refugee resettlement is one of the most secure, thoroughly vetted, and humane immigration pathways we have. It’s a legal process that relieves pressure on our borders and reflects the best of who we are as a nation.
