Actions for the week of October 20, 2025

Greetings, Activists!

Here is our roundup of actions you can take to protect the planet this fall and beyond!

Action 1

🧟📞🙅 No Williams Pipeline – Wednesday Call Relay

Wednesday, October 22nd • 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

The Williams NESE Pipeline is currently waiting to hear the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation’s decision about whether to grant them a Water Quality Permit. If approved, this pipeline poses significant and far-reaching implications for marine ecosystems, public health, climate goals, and environmental justice communities, as well as posing negative impacts on the coastal economies that depend on tourism, recreation, water sports and commercial fishing.

While this should be a straightforward decision based on science, we know the real power lies with Governor Hochul. We need as many people as possible to help persuade her that the Williams NESE pipeline would be bad for New York!

The call relay is short and sweet, with a script provided as well. Sign up to make a call on No Williams Wednesday, October 22nd!

Action 2

☀️🔌🌎 We Need More Affordable Solar Power ASAP!

As we see climate change accelerate, with more dangerous storms, droughts, heat and floods, we are also seeing energy bills skyrocket for families across New York. But these trends are not inevitable; solar energy is the cheapest and fastest-growing energy source in the world, and we need New York to double down on proven solutions.

Urge New York to pass the ASAP Act and ensure a more just, affordable, and sustainable energy system for everyone.

Action 3

☠️🏭🫷 Sign on to Stop the Expansion of the Petrochemical Industry

Plastics don’t just pollute our oceans — at every part of their lifecycle, plastics and the petrochemicals they’re made with contribute to pollution and put communities at risk.

These petrochemical facilities release toxic chemicals into the air and water, fueling health crises linked to higher rates of cancer, asthma, and other serious illnesses. One petrochemical additive found in many common household plastics has been linked to 356,000 heart-related deaths in a single year.

When you sign, you stand with communities demanding clean air and water, with those living near these toxic facilities facing extreme health consequences, and with a growing global movement saying “enough!” to petrochemicals. Together, our voices can help shift power to put people over pollution.
