Email from 40 Days for Life But 40 Days for Life volunteers did! John, Unexpected pregnancy doesn't mean unwanted pregnancy. A married couple leaving Planned Parenthood saw a 40 Days for Life "Ask Me About a Free Ultrasound" sign and decided to take Upland, California, vigil participants up on their offer. "This is a miraculous gift from God!" the husband said. "We just found out she is pregnant, and we didn't even know if it was possible. We have been hoping and praying, and now we are expecting our first baby!" So why in the world were they at Planned Parenthood? The young family needed pregnancy care. But contrary to the name, Planned Parenthood wasn't able to provide that... ...so prayer warriors set them up with access to free medical care and a variety of other resources. Both the husband and the wife got out of the car to pray with 40 Days for Life volunteers. That evening, the proud expectant mother texted Nicole, the Upland campaign leader, "Thank you so much!!! I appreciate you guys so much! God bless you guys!" While the couple was never abortion-minded, the presence of a 40 Days for Life vigil made sure they were able to connect with real health care as they prepare to welcome their child. How will God use YOU to answer someone's prayer? Sign up to pray before Sunday, November 2! 40daysforlife.com/locations Youngstown, Ohio Jere is leading his first 40 Days for Life campaign, and he has received a warm welcome from his community. Mike from the campaign team walked across the street to introduce himself to a local business owner, who was delighted by the presence of a pro-life vigil. "He offered us his parking lot, bottled water, and the use of his bathroom facilities for our volunteers," Jere reported. "He told us he prays the rosary every day and desperately wants abortion to end!" Jere also sat down with a Methodist pastor and a Baptist pastor, both of whom committed to sending congregants out to pray at the vigil. "Several drivers stopped to inquire and look at our signs, and one young lady gifted us a large umbrella when the rain began to fall," Jere added. "It was a very productive day." Bristol, Virginia When the overturning of Roe v. Wade allowed the Volunteer State to protect unborn babies under the law, the Bristol, Tennessee, abortion facility moved across the state border to Bristol, Virginia. 40 Days for Life volunteers have risen to the challenge, and vigil participation has steadily increased since the relocation. "Although we are praying for Bristol Women's Health to close, the growing prayer team in Bristol gives me hope that we can soon be a 40 Days for Life 365 city," said Angie, the local campaign leader. The pastors of several area churches regularly show up to pray--and advertise when they'll be present so that their congregations can join them. Additionally, four different Knights of Columbus councils are covering shifts at the vigil. "This means more large prayer gathering opportunities, which is making it easier for new people to join the vigil," Angie observed. Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw how [strong] the wind was he became frightened; and, beginning to sink, he cried out, "Lord, save me!" --Matthew 14:29-30 Thank you, Lord, for my doubt, which allows me to practice faith. Hear my prayer for expectant mothers. Give them the courage to walk in faith. Help them to see the nobility of their motherhood. Through the storms of life, keep them close to you and comfort them in the safety of your arms. Amen.
