As we approach Week 3 of this government shutdown, I often get asked on the road what this shutdown is really about. My response?

Healthcare. Healthcare. Healthcare.

The reality is this: Republicans are more than happy to see millions of Americans lose their health insurance coverage entirely or be forced to pay twice the price for the exact same coverage.

The GOP will claim it’s about efficiency or balancing the budget, but that’s a lie. Nothing they are doing will increase efficiency or balance the budget. And at a time when everybody's insurance costs are already going up, letting premiums double at the end of the year is completely unacceptable.

That’s why I’m running for Congress to bring servant leadership to Washington, D.C., but I cannot win this battle without your help. Will you give toward my campaign to flip CO-8 blue?
