Hi John,

Meanwhile, Sara Gideon is still refusing to participate in the debates. That’s because she doesn’t want Mainers to know that she’s against Medicare for All. Well, Betsy isn’t afraid to say she’ll fight for structural reform that will really benefit people:
  • On Medicare for All: “Once we fix Medicare so that it actually covers everybody for everything, then I think we have a healthcare system that is actually going to work in this country. Medicare for All is the only pathward forward that’s sustainable and makes sense for Mainers.”
  • On the Green New Deal: “This is one of the most important issues that we have facing us. In Maine, the backbone of our economy depends on us dealing with this climate crisis boldly and quickly – not by 2050 but within 10 years.”
  • On Criminal Justice Reform: “The whole issue of defunding police really is a call to rethink what we think about community safety. And how we keep us safe and how we take care of people. That's what we are asking and it is not by people showing up with a gun when someone is in a mental health crisis or when someone has a substance abuse disorder.”
We have to spread Betsy’s message to as many voters as possible. Please, consider pitching in what you can afford right now so we can spread Betsy’s message far and wide.

From all of us at Sweet HQ, thank you for your support!

PS: Missed tonight’s debate? Watch Betsy at 1pm on Sunday on CBS-13 WGME for the last debate before Tuesday’s Primary.
