I attended three No Kings rallies on Saturday — in Dover, Georgetown, and Rehoboth Beach — where thousands of Delawareans stood shoulder to shoulder with millions across the country to send one clear message to Donald Trump:
In America, we have no kings.
This wasn’t just a protest — it was a declaration of who we are, what we stand for, and what we refuse to become.
Trump and MAGA Republicans are calling the millions of Americans who turned out this weekend “criminals” — but I saw the truth. Workers, families, grandparents, and people from every walk of life came together with one shared purpose: defending freedom.
🇺🇸 The freedom to make decisions over our own bodies and healthcare.
🇺🇸 The freedom to be safe in our communities — without fear of masked agents abducting people without due process.
🇺🇸 The freedom to control our own destiny — not to be ruled by a despot, whether they wear a gold crown or sit in a gilded Oval Office.
Trump built an unholy and corrupt alliance with billionaire donors, promising them tax breaks in exchange for funding his authoritarian power expansion. Now he’s raiding our health care and ripping coverage from working people to pay them back.
We’re not standing by, and we won’t be intimidated. We’re fighting to reverse health care cuts, extend ACA subsidies, and protect our freedoms. Lives are on the line — and so is our democracy.
If you’re ready to keep up the fight, defend care, and show Trump this movement isn’t going anywhere, will you pitch in $5 — or any amount that works for you — to power our grassroots fight and protect our democracy?
Let’s keep up the energy from this weekend — and continue showing up for our country, our communities, and each other. Because our future belongs to us.
In solidarity,
Sarah McBride
