Hey — it’s Deb.

Like so many families across
the country, I relied on WIC to raise my child.

Some weeks, the milk, cereal, eggs, and oatmeal from those paper checks
were the only groceries we had.

Thanks to WIC and other federal programs, New Mexicans make it through.
That’s why, as governor, I will always fight to protect the programs that
help families survive during these difficult moments.

But right now, funding for WIC is at risk because of the ongoing Trump
shutdown, fueled by Republicans' desire to cut and destroy healthcare. If
this shutdown drags on, over 6 million families will lose
access to the nutrition they rely on.

Families deserve security, that’s why, as governor, I’ll always make sure
essential programs have the funding New Mexicans rely on — even when
Republicans in Washington play political games that put families at risk.

There’s too much at stake. No family should be allowed to go
hungry.

[ [link removed] ]If you agree, add your name to my petition today to stand with the
families who depend on WIC and demand that Congress end the government
shutdown.
