| Friend, No matter what state you live in, you should have the freedom to vote with confidence. But in some states, the rules about what ID you need to vote are changing — and that means lots of confused voters who need our help to know what ID they need, and how to get one if they don’t have it. VoteRiders works with voters in all 50 states and DC to ensure they have the information and free help they need to vote with confidence in upcoming state and local elections. Will you chip in now to support our work with voters? DONATE → In New Hampshire, a new law requires absentee voters to show a photo ID when requesting an absentee ballot. That’s in addition to the existing law requiring ID for in-person. VoteRiders is working with voters in New Hampshire to make sure they know the law has changed and to help them get an ID if they plan to vote absentee. → In North Carolina, the State Board of Elections sent letters to more than 80,000 voters informing them that they need to update their registration with an ID or social security to ensure they can vote without issue. VoteRiders is working to contact all 80,000 to remind them to repair their registration, and get them an ID if they don’t have one. → In Maine, there’s an initiative on the Nov. 4, 2025, ballot to impose a photo ID requirement for voting, as well as ending absentee voting as Mainers know it. We’re working to inform Maine voters of the disastrous consequences this ballot initiative would have on Maine elections. That’s just a small sample of all the ways VoteRiders is working with voters in states to help them overcome the ID barriers to voting that are unique to their state.
