Introducing myself and why I’m in this fight.

Hi John,

My name is James Walkinshaw, and I’m proud to represent Virginia’s 11th Congressional District as one of the newest Members of Congress elected this year.

One of the very first things I did after being sworn in was join SEEC (the House Sustainable Energy & Environment Coalition) — a caucus of more than 100 Members of Congress determined to tackle the climate crisis head-on.

I’m personally committed to SEEC’s mission, and I want to share why this organization means so much to me. Then I hope you will split a donation of $5 or more between my campaign and SEEC PAC to help us fight for bold climate action in Congress!

I’ve actually been with SEEC since the beginning.

Before I ever ran for Congress, I was Chief of Staff to Congressman Gerry Connolly, who was a charter member of SEEC when it was originally founded in 2009 to unite pro-climate voices in Washington.

Now, I’m carrying that mission forward — because we can’t afford to lose ground.

Donald Trump’s reckless shutdown is threatening climate programs, slashing clean energy funding, and silencing the scientists who study our warming planet. Meanwhile, fossil fuel projects are still being fast-tracked.

We need to stand up, fight back, and elect more climate champions like me who will defend science, protect clean energy jobs, and build a sustainable future for our kids.

If you believe in that mission, I’m asking you personally: Will you split a donation between my campaign and SEEC PAC to help us build the clean energy future our nation deserves?

Thanks to your help in 2024, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 119th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future. But if you'd like to receive fewer emails, we understand. You can click here to only get our most important messages, or you can unsubscribe.
