Reflect and Remember on Nov. 1

On All Saints Day, we pause to reflect on our history, remember the people who have influenced our faith and consider how we might strive to become a saint ourselves. View this video on the special day from United Methodist Communications at www.umc.org/en/content/why-do-we-observe-all-saints-day.

Sand Creek Massacre Exhibit to Open in DC

As part of the response of The United Methodist Church to the Sand Creek Massacre, the United Methodist Board of Church and Society and Commission on Religion and Race are hosting an exhibit that will be displayed at the United Methodist Building from Nov. 10 to Dec. 1.  The massacre, on Nov. 29, 1864, caused the deaths of 230 Cheyenne and Arapaho people, most of them women, children and elders. Col. John Chivington, a Methodist minister, commanded the attack on the peaceful Native American encampment. Read the press release at https://www.umcjustice.org/latest/dc-exhibit-the-sand-creek-massacre-the-betrayal-that-changed-cheyenne-and-arapaho-people-forever-7798.
