I know that right now, many of us are frustrated, angry, and feeling uncertain about the path forward.

But American history is a testament to finding a way through difficult times. It's a celebration of us achieving impossible things against impossible odds. 

Suffragists were demoralized.

Union activists were demoralized.

Civil rights activists were demoralized.

The activists at Stonewall were demoralized.

But the history of this country is woven with people who, in the midst of despair, chose to rise up. 

Donald Trump and the Republican enablers around him are a dark force in this country, but he can’t diminish our light, John. And when more of us come together, our light is magnified.
