Donald Trump is weaponizing the Supreme Court to attack our Constitution — again. Here’s what happened:
Earlier this year, Trump signed an executive order trying to end birthright citizenship, a right guaranteed to every person born in the U.S. under the 14th Amendment.
Instead of stopping him, the Supreme Court shielded his power by limiting federal judges from blocking nationwide, harmful policies, refusing to rule on the core issue.
Since then, multiple federal appeals courts have said loud and clear: Trump’s executive order is unconstitutional and an attack on the 14th Amendment. They blocked it from taking effect nationally — but Trump isn’t done.
Now, he’s asking the conservative-majority Supreme Court to decide once and for all whether he can strip citizenship from children born in the U.S.
If they side with him, it wouldn’t just tear apart one of our most fundamental rights — it would embolden Trump and his allies to escalate their attacks on our Constitution, setting a dangerous precedent that could fuel even more extreme, anti-democratic policies.
Trump is using a loyalist packed Supreme Court to rewrite the Constitution and push his extremist agenda. We cannot let this stand.
