Last weekend, millions of Americans took to the streets to participate in No Kings Rallies protesting Donald Trump.
In Pennsylvania, MAGA took advantage of these protests and used them to spread malicious disinformation to voters in the run up to the state’s upcoming Supreme Court Retention election which will take place on November 4th.
The far-right is doing everything they can to take over this court because, if they win here, they can rig the vote in this critical swing state in 2026 and in 2028, pass an extreme abortion ban, and gerrymander the PA congressional map.
To secure a win, they are spending tens of millions on ads and mailers intended to trick Democrats into voting no on retention (the GOP ballot choice). Over the weekend, we saw these tactics deployed against No Kings attendees across Pennsylvania:
Voting no is the Republican ballot option in this race. These signs and canvassers were at these rallies to trick Democratic voters into supporting MAGA.
Although the iconography may fit right in at a No Kings rally, these signs and canvassers were part of the GOP’s insidious ploy to dupe Pennsylvania voters into removing their own justices.
Because the November 4th ballot does not provide partisan information to help guide voters on whether a yes or no vote is the Republican or Democratic choice, the GOP is doubling down on tricking liberal voters into voting no.
Unfortunately, the GOP’s efforts to poison the well is playing out exactly the way they’ve wanted it to. Polling released this past week showed that voters are deeply confused on whether to vote yes or no.
Defend Our Courts is pushing back and saturating our voters with ads and mailings to counteract the GOP's messaging push and assure voters that a YES vote is the right way for Democrats to vote here.
This election is just 15 days away, and we need to supercharge our counter-disinformation efforts or we will lose this court to MAGA tricking our voters.
