Thank you so much for your generosity. Because of you, we were able to reach our ambitious end-of-quarter fundraising goal – which means we can make better, brighter futures possible for even more children around the world.
As a reminder of how this community of supporters helps us overcome any challenge or distance to reach those who need us most, we want to share 11-year-old Julien's story.
Last year, as part of our letter-writing program that's possible because of supporters like you, Julien wrote a letter to a group of children living in Yemen – where five years of relentless war has left more than 12 million children in urgent need of health care, education and protection. He wanted to share words of encouragement in hopes of bringing them as much comfort as he could, but he never expected to receive a reply.
But Hodeidah, Amran, Aden and his sister read Julien's letter and were incredibly happy to learn that a child outside of Yemen understands what is happening in their communities. They responded to tell Julien all about the sports they like to play; their hopes of a peaceful, better future for their family and their country; and how glad they were to have a new friend.
Julien was able to provide these children with hope. And by stepping up in the moments that matter most, supporters like you also help usher hope into millions of children’s lives in the form of food, health, and opportunities to learn and feel safe from harm – in Yemen and beyond.
Thank you again for all you do to create change that lasts a lifetime for children in need.
