Today the Supreme Court gave a green light to the Trump Administration’s efforts to deprive women access to birth control. The Court struck down the Affordable Care Act’s contraceptive mandate, which provided more than 62 million women seamless access to affordable contraception.

So what does this mean? Hundreds of thousands of those women now stand to lose copay-free birth control, along with all of the benefits and independence that brings. Black and Latinx people and immigrants will be impacted the most – the same communities that are already being disproportionately harmed by COVID-19 and the economic fallout.

We can’t let the health and economic futures of hundreds of thousands of women be subject to the personal beliefs of their bosses.

Our next president could reverse this rule. And as the People’s Lawyer, I will never stop fighting to ensure equal access to health care for everyone. We need to do everything in our power to elect Joe Biden and a Democratic Senate in November to put a stop to these attacks. And we need to send a loud and clear message to Donald Trump to keep his hands off our birth control.
