The National Rifle Association (NRA) is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization because it alleges to operate for "common good."

Is a $2 million salary for Wayne LaPierre for the common good?

Is $1.2 million toward Mitch McConnell's reelection for the common good?

Here's the truth: the NRA puts profits over people every time.

We've set a goal to collect 100,000 petitions calling on the IRS to conduct a thorough investigation into the NRA. When the IRS finds that the NRA is abusing its tax-exempt status to churn profits for the gun industry, we will demand that it is immediately revoked. John, can you help us meet our goal of collecting 100,000 signatures by adding your name today? [[link removed]]

At Brady, we know what is good for the country. Universal background checks. An assault weapons ban. Reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). But the NRA has repeatedly fought to block these lifeasaving legislations— using its “tax-exempt” funds.

That the NRA is only operating on behalf of the gun industry, not for gun owners and certainly not for the safety of the general public. Profits over people is not what a nonprofit organization is supposed to uphold.

John, we need to show the NRA that it’s not above the law. Please add your name to our petition to the IRS to challenge the NRA’s tax-exempt status! [[link removed]]
