John, it’s not too late to fix this. The Republican General Assembly has woefully underfunded our state’s Medicaid program, forcing devastating cuts to the program. If the legislature continues on a path of inaction and these cuts continue, folks will not be able to receive the care they need. North Carolinians will get sick. Rural health care providers will shut down. Our communities will suffer. And Medicaid doesn’t benefit only the people who are covered under the program. Medicaid dollars help keep our entire health care system functioning by supporting rural hospitals and boosting our economy.
