They are held in cages all day, sometimes stacked high upon each other with other dogs.

When they are sick or injured, they may receive little to no veterinary care.

The food they receive may be infested with feces or mold, and their water, if they have it, is just as unclean.

These living conditions are merciless and horrifying—but it doesn’t have to be this way.

Humane World Action Fund, formerly called Humane Society Legislative Fund, is fighting to get two animal welfare bills passed in Congress that would help to end the suffering of vulnerable puppies and dogs in these inhumane breeding facilities. We’re working around the clock to stop the abuse and neglect at puppy mills regulated by the federal government—from exposing the truth of the atrocious conditions at many of these large-scale breeding facilities to advocating for legislation to create stronger animal welfare protections like the Better CARE for Animals Act and the Puppy Protection Act.

Together these bills would drastically improve the quality of life of dogs in breeding facilities and help save animals’ lives before it’s too late. But with the American Kennel Club lobbying against these commonsense bills, it’s absolutely critical for us to take immediate action to stop their corporate agenda that prioritizes profit over animal suffering.
