In 2023, over 10,000 EDF members called for stronger limits on the super pollutant methane. And we won! Thanks to their efforts, the EPA put in place the strongest methane protections yet.

But for months now, the Trump administration has been delaying its enforcement — illegally.

To defend the methane protections we’ve fought so hard for, we’re pulling on every lever: comments to the administration, lawsuits in the courts and now legislative action by the Senate.

The Senate can push back against the Trump EPA’s illegal delay. Join our efforts and urge your senators to vote “YES” on S.J. Res. 76 and help the U.S. get back on track.

Fight for methane action!

Stand against EPA Administrator Zeldin’s illegal delay!

Act now

Methane is a super pollutant that is over 80 times more potent than carbon dioxide in the short term. In fact, it’s already responsible for 30% of the warming we’re experiencing today. Meaning every ton that we can avoid today will help reduce the impact of extreme weather, protect the climate and the safeguard the health of our communities for years to come.

The 2024 U.S. EPA methane rule does just that — reducing emissions through proven and cost-effective solutions that even the oil and gas industry supports. By tackling commonsense issues, like leak detection and repair, and regulating wasteful practices like venting and flaring, the U.S. can cut millions of tons of harmful emissions each year. But only if it’s implemented.

We need your help to put pressure on the Trump EPA to do their lawful duty by enforcing this rule immediately. Every moment Zeldin waits leads to more health-harming pollution, wasted resources and irreparable damage to the climate.

Urge the Senate to take a powerful step forward by rebuking the Trump EPA for delaying the methane pollution protections we deserve.

We’re in it together,
