Hi friend,
Across England and Wales, visits have gone up by a massive 400,000 over the last two years to 1.7 million. That’s almost half a million more people facing harassment and intimidation. And it’s people on low incomes who are worst affected.
This week we’re making a splash in the media by showing just how big an explosion there has been in bailiff visits, can you help us get the message to policy makers by emailing your MP?
Help stop harassment: email your MP ([link removed])
Since we launched our campaign calling for a ban on bailiff visits, I’ve been overwhelmed at the response, almost 3,000 of you have signed our petition and hundreds responded to the government consultation.
But we’re at a turning point.
Right now, the government is deciding what to do about it. They could help people write off the £8.3bn of council tax debt that has built up over cost-of-living crisis and massively reduce bailiff visits, or they could do ncthing.
Will you help make sure the new minister; Steve Reed MP gets the message by contacting your MP?

Raising this issue with your MP is one of the most powerful ways you can help make your voice heard. It lets them know that their constituents care about this issue and pushes them to make sure the government is doing something to make a change.
Here’s that link again ([link removed]) . I know that together we can make sure this issue stays at the top of the new minister’s to do list.
As ever, thank you for taking action!
Best wishes,
Toby, Eva, Zak and the whole team at Debt Justice.
