Making history: President Trump brokered a ceasefire deal between Hamas and Israel that returned the remaining hostages held by Hamas, ended the years-long war, and exemplified a peace-through-strength approach to diplomacy.

  • Victoria Coates, vice president of the Davis Institute, explains how this could finally bring about lasting peace in the region.
  • “The thing that's different now is all those countries that the president met with in Egypt yesterday, they're not trying to wipe Israel off the map anymore,” said Coates. “They're trying to find a way to make friends with Israel because Israel really is the powerhouse in the Middle East.”
  • Heritage Visiting Fellow David Aaronson was at the Knesset to hear the president’s historic speech.
  • Senior Policy Analyst Daniel Flesch explained the significance of this agreement on the Heritage Explains podcast. Listen to that here.
