,
Today, I announced the New Zealand Future Fund - Labour’s plan to back our own potential, create good, secure jobs, and grow our wealth so people can build their future here at home, not overseas.
For too long, great Kiwi ideas haven’t had the backing they deserve.
Too many have been forced offshore, bought out by foreign investors, or never realised at all - taking jobs and opportunity with them.
Labour will fix that with the creation of the New Zealand Future Fund.
The Future Fund will invest in New Zealand’s people, ideas, and industries - making life more affordable by creating well-paid jobs and keeping our wealth and talent here where they belong.
This is how we turn aspiration into action and make New Zealand a place where our kids want to stay and build their lives.
Right now, record numbers of Kiwis are leaving, and it's no wonder. Christopher Luxon promised to fix the economy, but instead he's making it worse.
His only answer is to start selling off our assets and open the door wider to foreign investors - giving away our future instead of building it.
Labour has a better way. We’re proud of Kiwi ingenuity and we’ll invest in it.
We’ll back local ideas that make our country stronger, richer, and better for everyone.
That’s how we create jobs and opportunities so people can build good lives here at home.
Our future is made right here - not by selling off our best assets or letting ourselves be bought out, but by doing what we’ve always done best: backing our own talent and ingenuity.
An economy made in New Zealand, by New Zealanders, for New Zealanders. And the Future Fund is where it starts.

This is just the beginning. Over the coming months, I’ll share more of Labour’s economic plan - each step building toward real, lasting change that benefits everyone.
Together, we'll make this a one-term National Government.
