Yesterday, our fake-moderate opponent John Katko launched his first ads of the election. They are deceptive attempts to obscure his record of consistently voting with Donald Trump and House Republicans for an agenda that hurts central and western New York.

We need to raise $797 more by tonight to reach our rapid-response goal and maintain the resources to fight back. Can you help by giving $24 or more now?

John Katko's voting record -- including votes for the GOP tax scam and multiple attempts to roll back the Affordable Care Act -- shows a refusal to fight for working families. And it has a lot to do with who pays for his campaigns:

• $130,000 from big pharma
• $270,000 from the oil and gas industry
• $500,000 from the financial industry
• And millions from corporate PACs

The message voters are getting today from John Katko is a message funded by these special interests.

Our elections should be determined by the people -- not by whichever corporate PACs cut the biggest checks. My campaign takes zero dollars from corporate PACs, and that's why I'm counting on grassroots supporters like you to help me counter John Katko's ads and get my message out.

My message is people first.

My message is that every central and western New Yorker deserves a fair shot at success. That means guaranteed access to quality and affordable healthcare, an economy with better-paying jobs and an equitable tax system, and a democracy where we get big money out of politics so that power rests with the people -- not special interests.

To get that message out in the next 118 days of this election, we need to be consistent in hitting all of our fundraising goals. With polls showing us statistically tied with John Katko, his campaign and allies will do everything in their power to stop us.
