Public health groups around the country have had enough.
Last week, hundreds of public health agencies and health advocacy groups wrote a letter to the Trump administration demanding the CDC be allowed to play a more prominent leadership role in fighting the COVID-19 crisis. The CDC has been largely sidelined by the Trump administration during this crisis, and this has caused immeasurable harm to our health.
Make no mistake: The COVID-19 crisis has worsened because of Trump. The CDC produced guidelines to safely reopen our economy, and the Trump administration ignored them. Trump’s inability to place public health over his own reputation has cost thousands of Americans their lives and severe damage to our economy. We need a pro-science response to minimize further damage, but we won’t get one without your support. So please, make your voice heard:
