JOHN, did you know that Florida is the most expensive state in the country to buy property insurance? That is because politicians like Ashley Moody, Ron DeSantis, and Donald Trump have done nothing to help lower the costs of property insurance for working families who are just trying to stay in their homes. What is happening in Florida is not just a one-off. If we do not fix the broken property insurance system and fight the climate crisis, every single state in our country will feel the effects.
Look, I’ve had to deliver groceries as a second job to make ends meet. I understand exactly what higher insurance premiums mean for working families — hard decisions. Like having to choose whether to pay an insurance premium or put food on the table for your family. We need to change the system so that it works for our families, not against us.
