Here’s a big difference between MAGA and me.

MAGA politicians proudly tell us every day that they hate their fellow Americans.

From the White House to Congress to Fox News, Trump and the people who keep him in power have made it clear that they don’t see the millions of Democratic or progressive voters in our country as fellow Americans who they happen to disagree with — they see them as the enemies within.

Just look at the way Trump is running the country. He’s weaponizing the justice department to go after Democratic elected officials. He’s using the National Guard to occupy and bully “Democrat cities” He’s using the government shutdown as an excuse to cut funding for “popular Democrat programs” that help millions of Americans. He labels peaceful protesters as “Antifa” and threatens to throw them in jail.

My politics just couldn’t be any more different. I believe fundamentally that every human being is worth fighting for, and that everybody deserves dignity and respect no matter what they believe.

I want the Trump voter who tells me to go back to Somalia to have universal healthcare and a good-paying job.

I want the folks in deep red districts to enjoy the same affordable, safe, and rewarding life that I want for folks in deep blue districts.

Because I understand that it’s not the regular people who are left behind by the system who are the problem — it’s the system itself, which works everyday to pit working class Americans against each other while billionaires make away like bandits.

So Trump’s press secretary can call us “Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals” all she wants. It’s not going to stop me from going to Congress and fighting every day for the rights and futures of ALL Americans, not just the ones I agree with or the ones who vote for me.
