Want to expand Medicaid

john -- Tennessee is one of just 13 states that still haven’t expanded Medicaid even though 63% of Tennesseans support doing so.

And with this administration’s judicial assault on pre-existing conditions, access to health care for so many across Tennessee hangs in the balance in the election for Tennessee’s open U.S. Senate seat.

I’m a combat veteran who knows that access to health care is a right. That’s why I’m running, and it’s why I launched my campaign at a closed rural hospital in McKenzie. In the Senate, I’ll work with anyone to improve health care by fixing the Affordable Care Act, expanding Medicaid so we stop losing our rural hospitals, and allowing the government to negotiate lower prices for prescription drugs.

Will you stand with me to demand Medicaid expansion?

Right now in Tennessee, our health care system leaves too many of our friends and neighbors with the impossible choice of paying for medical care or putting food on the table.

By refusing to expand Medicaid, our state has forfeited billions in federal funding over the last 10 years, and as a result, our rural hospitals have been forced to close, making Tennessee the state with the most closed rural hospitals per person.

If our state legislature’s gerrymandered supermajority won’t expand Medicaid -- overruling 63% of Tennesseans -- I’ll make sure it gets done while we fix the Affordable Care Act in Congress.
