Today, millions of people turned out for No Kings protests in cities all over the country. In blue states and red states alike, people rose up to make it clear that we will not give up our democracy, our rights, and our freedoms without fierce grassroots resistance.
These inspiring protests are an important part of an all-encompassing effort to stop Trump and fight back against authoritarianism. We also need to win elections and kick Trump and his Republican allies out of office, full stop.
That’s why Swing Left is laser-focused on helping Democrats win in critical elections that can tip the balance of power. And with important elections coming up in California and Virginia in just over two weeks, we need your help to make sure Democrats win.
If you’re looking for the next way to make an impact, here are some great options:
➡️ Sign up to phone bank in Virginia. The governor’s, lieutenant governor’s, and attorney general’s offices are all on the ballot, in addition to the entire House of Delegates. Virginia will be an important bellwether for what happens in the midterms next year, and we need to do everything we can to make sure Democrats flip seats across the state.
➡️ Sign up to call voters in California. In this year’s special election, Proposition 50 is on the ballot. It allows voters to decide whether to temporarily redraw California’s congressional map before the midterms. It’s a strategic way to counteract Republican gerrymandering in states like Texas and Missouri, and whether this ballot measure passes could be the deciding factor in whether Democrats have a fair shot at flipping the House next year.
