*** URGENT UPDATE ***
Team,
This morning, the U.S. Supreme Court let stand the Trump-Pence rules allowing nearly any employer or university to deny birth control coverage to their employees and students.
This decision puts contraceptive coverage at risk for hundreds of thousands of people, especially low-income workers and students, people of color and LGBTQ people.
Refusing patients the health care they are guaranteed by law is a blatant act of discrimination. Our reproductive rights are on the line and we need to ensure we have the funds needed to respond to these continued attacks. Please take your support to the next level by joining the Friends of the Center today.
With a simple signup, you can join our most dedicated supporters by pledging to make a gift—and make a difference in the fight for reproductive rights—month after month. You'll never need to renew your support, and you can change your gift amount or cancel at any time.
This type of support is so vital to our work that a generous Center donor has pledged to match your first monthly gift 5X up to $125,000—but only through midnight on July 31. Don't wait, please become a Friend of the Center today.
Today's ruling has given bosses and universities the power to dictate how their employees and students can and cannot use their health insurance. Under the administration's discriminatory rules the Court let stand, entities of any size, whether non-profit or for-profit, could deny birth control coverage for its workers or students as long as it claimed to have religious or moral objections.
We will keep fighting to ensure that only patients, not their bosses or universities, have the authority to decide what health care choices are appropriate for them and their families. Will you become a Friend of the Center by making a monthly gift today to help us keep fighting? Don’t forget, your first contribution will be matched 5X when you join the Friends of the Center before July 31!
Onward,
Lourdes Rivera
