But MAGA’s gerrymandering scheme only works under one condition: that they have control over the State Supreme Courts who have the ultimate say on the constitutionality of Congressional maps — making State Supreme Courts the last line of defense against MAGA’s election rigging scheme.
The stakes of November 4th’s Pennsylvania Supreme Court retention election were already high enough, but now with this decision looming—they’re astronomical.
MAGA has launched an all out blitz to try and topple the Democratic majority on the court. If they seize this court and the U.S. Supreme Court strikes down the Voting Rights Act, they’ll be able to gerrymander PA into oblivion, all but eliminating PA Democrats from the House of Representative and rigging the 2026 midterms so Democrats don’t even have a prayer of winning back the House.
They’re so hellbent on winning this race that this election is already the most expensive retention election ever, and it may even reach Presidential election spending levels.
Defend Our Courts is on the ground and on the airwaves in PA, trying to hold the line against MAGA’s onslaught. With a warchest of over 3 million dollars and nearly 60,000 Democratic donors on our side, we are one of the largest Democratic organizations in this race.
But with 17 days until election day, MAGA is still outspending us 10-1. And with the stakes now higher than ever, we desperately need more Democrats to rally to our side or Democrats will lose the 2026 midterms before a single vote is cast.
