This is a long message about why I’m running for Congress. If you don’t have time to read it, I hope you’ll consider making a donation to my campaign. I’m rejecting corporate PAC money, and our run-off election is in 6 days, so your $5 or $10 will make all the difference for our people-powered movement:
As a former public school teacher, I know firsthand that education is not the equalizer we all want it to be -- some schools get million-dollar football stadiums and others can’t replace 20 year old textbooks.
As a civil rights lawyer, I helped women who suffered discrimination in the workplace, immigrant families, firefighters, low-income renters, and those demanding stronger gun regulations. I saw just how much injustice permeates the very fabric of our society.
People are crying out for change -- and we can’t and won’t wait any longer. There’s too much at stake.
In 2018, I came just four points shy of ousting Republican Michael McCaul. This year, I’m going to finish the job. If you’re ready for a more compassionate government -- one with an eye toward equity, science, and opportunity for all, I’m asking you to chip in to my Democratic campaign to help us hit our $10,000 Run-Off Election goal in the next 6 days:
I’m working for a future where a hard day’s work is enough to put a roof over your head and food on your table, where healthcare is a guarantee, and where the zip code you’re born into doesn’t decide whether or not you can attain the American dream.
I’m fighting for real change -- the kind that we all see in our everyday lives, not empty partisan talking points. That’s why this fight means so much to me, and I hope it means just as much to you.
Thank you,
Mike
