John: Tomorrow I am kicking off my re-election campaign for Congress. This is a very challenging time for our country -- and, in this moment, each of us must do our part to defend our democracy if we hope to keep it. For me -- when the promise of our Constitution seems most tenuous -- that fight continues in Congress. I hope I can count on your continued encouragement and support in this effort.
As part of that, I’m spending most of today raising the resources that I’ll need to fund my campaign and win again. I would be very grateful for your help once more... and I promise will be put to good use. Here’s the link for whatever you can do.
As I kick off this next campaign, I want to reassure you that our democracy is not a fragile flower -- but it does need cultivating. It was built by dedicated work and it has been protected time and time again by people who love this country. That task and responsibility is now ours. I have no doubt that, together, we will continue to prove that its promise is worth preserving.
Thanks for giving this some thought and for all that you do.
Zoe
PS: Tomorrow, Adam Kinzinger, House Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar, and Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas are joining us for my family BBQ and campaign kick-off. If you're in the area, please stop by! Here's the info.
