John,
This week has been another gut punch to anyone with basic decency.
First, Politico revealed that dozens of Young Republicans – many of whom are influential consultants and local officials – repeatedly shared homophobic, antisemitic, misogynistic, and overall disgusting remarks in their group text.

Pathetically, right-wing activists – including the vice president – have rallied to their defense as “boys being boys”, and demeaned anyone expressing outrage as “pearl clutching.”
At a time when record levels of hate and antisemitism are being reported across our country, these incidents cannot be normalized, especially not in a Congress that’s sworn to uphold the rights of every American.
Los Angeles is home to over half a million Jewish-Americans, and I will continue fighting every day so we, and all other ethnic and religious groups, can exist without fear of being targeted for simply existing.
