John,
Republicans are at it again—and this time, they’ve taken their fight all the way to the Supreme Court.
After Republicans jammed through one of the most blatant partisan gerrymanders in Texas history with Trump’s power grab, GOP lawmakers in Louisiana are now trying to undo their own state’s maps—the ones that finally gave minority voters a voice under the Voting Rights Act.
Louisiana Republicans are pushing the Court to ban any consideration of race when drawing Congressional districts. If they get their way, it could gut the Voting Rights Act and allow Republicans to redraw as many as 19 Democratic House seats to favor their party—including five in Texas.
Sound familiar? It’s the same playbook they’ve been running right here in Texas: draw unfair maps, silence voters, and hold onto power at any cost.
We’ve seen this before—but at Powered by People, we know how to fight back. We organize. We register new voters. We build power from the ground up. And we don’t wait to act.
No matter how the Supreme Court rules, we need to be ready to win fair representation the hard way—by showing up, talking to our neighbors, registering voters on college campuses, and out-organizing their schemes at every level of the ballot.
That’s where your support makes the difference. Every dollar we raise powers voter registration and our organizing in the communities most impacted by these attacks on fair representation.
Thank you,
