I didn’t believe it when I first read this: ICE’s Budget Now Bigger Than Most of the World’s Militaries. 

I looked into it and it is true, the GOP’s Big Beautiful Bill included massive budget increases for MAGA’s deportation machine, transforming the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) into the world’s 13th-largest military force—better-funded than most of the world’s militaries.

This armed force is now completely unleashed and it's unaccountable to the law, the Constitution, or the people. 

ICE agents have responded to peaceful protests with unwarranted violence and brutality, in many cases chasing people down, deploying pepper spray, tear gas, and shooting pellets at unarmed and non-threatening protestors. In Chicago, ICE was caught on video shooting a pastor in the head with pepper ball projectiles as he was standing, unarmed, peacefully protesting from a safe distance in front of them:

This situation is dangerous and unacceptable. ICE cannot be allowed to violate our Constitutional rights with impunity. They have to be restrained and held accountable right now.

We need leaders who understand what is at stake and who are willing to take these fights head-on. 

I have served this country in uniform and as a Special Counsel at the Pentagon under President Biden. And now I am running for Congress to tackle these challenges and get our country back on the right track—before it is too late.

This moment demands that we do everything we can to take on the Trump Administration.
